![]() Playing as OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, MEGATRON, BARRICADE and others, gamers will experience the unstoppable power and massive scale of their favorite ROBOTS IN DISGUISE as they battle for Earth. “Peter and Frank's signature voices bring the characters to life and will immerse a whole new generation of enthusiasts in the epic battle between the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS.”īased on “ TRANSFORMERS,” the upcoming live-action feature film due out on July 4 th from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, TRANSFORMERS: The Game lets players choose to protect the Earth as AUTOBOTS or destroy it as DECEPTICONS. “As TRANSFORMERS fans, we knew the importance of having the well-known voices of OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON in the game,” said Laird Malamed, head of production, Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), developed under license from HPG, the licensing division of Hasbro, Inc. Santa Monica, CA – Ap– Legendary voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, the original voices of OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON from the first TRANSFORMERS animated series, are set to star as the lead characters in TRANSFORMERS: The Game, from Activision, Inc. ”To be able to write back, or to be able to send something out to show my gratefulness to them, it has changed my life._OPTIMUS PRIME AND MEGATRON IN TRANSFORMERS: THE GAME _ It’s a time-consuming process, but nonetheless it’s a very heartwarming and sensitive moment for me. There are people from all continents of this planet Earth who have especially responded to this character of Optimus Prime, through fan mail, and I respond back to them. ” ‘Lot’ is a short word, but it’s the right word. It’s a position, Cullen said, that he regards as an honor. With two iconic characters to his name, many people consider him the voice – or at least a voice – of their youth. In addition to voicing Optimus Prime, Cullen served for more than 20 years as the voice of Eeyore, the pessimistic stuffed donkey, for Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh”-related shows, films and videos. ”I’m not allowed to give you more information than that, but I can guarantee you that it’s interesting and that the efforts of the cast, Mark and Nicola and everyone, give you a deep understanding of what’s happening on the human level.” This time he comes back and it’s a really interesting revival. “He’s died and come back to life so many times before. ”He’s always rebounded back from any dismal situations,” Cullen replied. Of course we have Decepticons, some old and some new, but it’s open range when it comes down to this next sequence of ‘Transformers’ movies. And the memories will go back to perhaps not only the Autobots, but the Dinobots they’re going to come back. “There are a lot of human relationships going on. ”It’s got a little of everything, although you can look forward to the same amount of action, nonstop action, from beginning to end,” Cullen said. Joining forces with Optimus in a last-ditch effort to fend off hordes of ferocious, invading enemies are single father Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), his teenage daughter, Tessa (Nicola Peltz), and her boyfriend, Shane (Jack Reynor). Optimus Prime makes his presence felt emphatically in “Age of Extinction,” which finds the human race and also the alien robots that have called Earth home for many years nearing their expiration dates. I don’t and never really have understood how they make their decisions when they do or why they do, so I’m always a little apprehensive about whether or not they’ll change their minds and bring in somebody else, because nothing is permanent in this business, and I’ve never taken it for granted by any means.” “You don’t know what the powers-that-be will do. ”I guess there’s always a sense of fragility,” said the 72-year-old actor, who was born in Canada. Speaking by telephone from Los Angeles, however, Cullen explained that, though he’s been part of the “Transformers” film family since 2006, when he started to record dialogue for the first live-action adventure, he refused, even for a moment, to assume that the job is his indefinitely. He returns yet again for “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” also directed by Bay. Cullen met with Bay, the two hit it off, and Cullen voiced Optimus not only for “Transformers” (2007), but also for Bay’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” (2009) and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” (2011). Cullen had voiced the powerful, benevolent Autobot in the original animated series “The Transformers” (1984-1987) and in “The Transformers: The Movie” (1987) and had become a fan favorite, but that guaranteed nothing when it came to the features. Back when Michael Bay was starting work on the first live-action “Transformers” feature, Peter Cullen essentially had to win back his job as Optimus Prime.
